María Bravo Núñez

María Angélica grew up in Mexico and had the opportunity to be an undergraduate at the most amazing Genomic Program at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). For her undergraduate research, she joined the Rosenberg Lab at Baylor College of Medicine where she studied genes that when overexpressed cause DNA damage in E. coli. She joined the Stowers Institute program and decided to join SaraH Zanders’ lab to understand meiotic drive in fission yeast. Maria is now working as a postdoctoral fellow in Andrew Murray's lab at Harvard University.  In her free time, she likes reading sci-fi books and running.
