Sam Campbell was born and raised in Eudora, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas in 2021 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During Sam’s undergraduate studies at KU, he worked in two labs. For two and a half years, Sam worked in the Bever/Schultz Lab studying the role of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in prairie development and the effect of invasive species, Lespedeza, on prairie communities. He then worked in the Hefty Lab defining virulence factors in Chlamydia, before Covid-19 cut that time short. He joined the Zanders Lab in June 2021 and is now working to understand wtf proteins and their features.
In Sam’s free time, he enjoys playing soccer, working out, and spending time with friends. You can contact Sam at SCampbell@stowers.org.
